Antique / Vintage Dipping Needle Circle Mining Compass

Nice well made (not one of the cheaper ones I have seen) dipping needle or mining compass.  Good shape generally.  The needle moves freely and reacts actively to metal objects placed and moved around it.  A bit of corrosion inside in one section (see last photo) but clean other than that (near a small hole in the side of the compass).  I think there may have been a small chain attached at one time based on others I have seen that is missing or it is simply an air hole.  Not sure.  Those interested will know better than I.   The compass is 3.75" in diameter without the ring.  No case and comes as you see it in photos.
Sold as is.  Return only if not as described and shown in photos.  No Overseas Shipping at this time.  I am still fully employed and overseas shipping consumes too much time and can create issues.  Thanks.
