    Description

This contemporary method contact print was created by Joe Hopkins, a Native American of Muskogee Creek Seminole heritage, probably in the 80's or 90's.  Hopkins was raised in a White family and learned contemporary means to create art, paintings, prints, video.  This print is # 11 from a limited edition of 150.  The linoleum printing block was cut by Hopkins and printed on a hand made paper which has natural inclusions in it, providing a chance arrangement of spots, as intended by the artist.  This chance means that every single print is unique, unlike its fellows printed from the same block.  The image measures 8 1/2" x 9 3/4", currently in a mat measuring 14" x 16", ready to be framed or hung as is...with no frame or glass.  It is held in the mat by tape on the corners, which can be removed for other means of display or framing.  It is signed and numbered in the lower facing right, and titled in the left as "Prayer for Rain, Hopi Snake Dance".  Check out my OTHER ITEMS/SELLER STORE.
